destination for the 'beauty-disadvantaged'
A fair dinkum typical male Australian quote from John Molony mayor of Mount Isa urging ugly women to flock to the isolated town where the ratio of men:women is 5:1.
I think what he said was rude, but not as bad as saying something like "We want only beautiful women in our town."
I think he just needed to say it in a more positive manner.
He could have said something like "Come to Mount Isa where everyone is welcome. We're not superficial here. We care what's on the inside and not what's on the surface. You don't need worry about fashion, make up, your nails chipping...or the latest diets. Just be yourself and we'll love you."
